Response - Hi
Interviewer- Can we meet you?
Response - Am Olanrewaju Temitope David an award winning rapper and producer.
Interviewer - Cool, can you tell us little about yourself, family, education e.t.c
Response -Well i am from a family of five...and i am the first child...i studied mass communication in Kogi State University, Ayingba.
Interviewer -What is your stage name?
Response - It's Davinchi.
Coined from the legendary Leonardo Davinci the painter, scientist, musician, inventor, sculpture and the list goes on.
Interviewer -Tell us about how you got into rap and producing.
Response - Well i pretty much started rap as an hobby...you know...just miming popular songs until people started noticing and they thought i was ver good...When i got to the University i teamed a very close of mine (he is a singer) and we formed the duo Simply Perfect...That was when everything got serious for me, we performed in almost all the shows in school and we even released couple of songs and videos that trended.
Producing started out of my love for music...i learnt how to use the DAW Fl studio all on my own...i just kept practicing with it until i became good.
Interviewer - Would you like to make any collaborations sooner or later?
Response - Yeah definitely am working on various projects that would include couple of artists that i can't talk about now
Interviewer -Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Response - In five years i see myself going international not only as a rapper but also as a producer...i would really like to put Nigeria and Afro music on the map.
Interviewer - If you compare yourself to an already established artist who would it be and why?
Response - If i was to compare myself to any artist it would be Naeto C...yeah i know that sounds weird but i feel like we ve similar style in music...there is always an emotional appeal to my songs and thats one thing i thing Naeto C has a great deal of.
Interviewer - What do you think your listeners would get out of your music?
Response - Listeners would definitely get truth out of my music...i am very honest with whatever i put out there...i dont brag abt things i don't ve like many artists do.
Interviewer - When you were coming up which artist did you listen to for inspiration?
Response - For inspiration i listen to Ycee, Big Sean, a lot of trap music, Jayz, Kanye, M.I, Eva...and thr list goes on and on.
Interviewer - What do you plan to do to make it big?
Response - Well to make it big i plan on keep doing me...you know...just being unique...As an artist and a producer.
Interviewer - What are the challenges so far?
Response - My challenge is basically finances...you know its kinda expensive to record and promote new songs.
Interviewer - What do you do for leisure?
Response - In my leisure i travel a lot and i love meeting new people...
Interviewer - Do you love sports?
Response - Yeah i love basketball.
